From spring throughout the summer and well into the fall, the rural idyll of the Allgäu offers opportunities for long hikes and bike rides on an extensive network of hiking and biking trails. Romantic towns like Isny and Wangen, spas like Kisslegg, Neutrauchburg, Wolfegg, make the Allgäu a favored, recognized climatic vacation region of the Alpine foothills.

Explore the area

Experience beautiful alpine nature, wind and vastness with all your senses, a feeling of happiness for body and soul. Hike a piece of the Allgäu e.g. the Schwarzer Grat, the Eistobel or surrounding moors. Hiking maps are available in the hotel. You can also explore the area by bike. Mountain bikes can be rented from us. You can get the cycling map at the reception.

Tee off, drive or putt – a pleasure for experts or a challenge for beginners. The nearest golf courses are in Hellengerst, Oberstaufen-Steibis, Memmingen-Gut Westerhart, Waldegg-Wiggensbach, Lindau-Weißensberg, Lindau-Bad Schachen, Bad Waldsee-Förstl. Hofgut, Riefensberg/Vorarlberg., Oberstdorf and Ofterschwang.

Many other popular destinations can be reached in a short time by car:

  • sny and Wangen are formerly free imperial cities with an abundance of local history museums and galleries
  • Wolfegg sports a beautiful farmhouse and car museum: the open-air museum in Illerbeuren
  • Lake Constance impresses with Lindau, Meersburg, Mainau Island, the Bregenz Festival
  • The Allgäu Alps excite with the Nebelhorn and Hochgrat, the Pfänder in Vorarlberg and the Säntis in Switzerland can all be conquered by cable car
  • Upper Swabian Baroque Route has magnificent castles and monasteries

Our tip: An excursion to the glassmaking village in Schmidsfelden

Schmidsfelden is actually a street village that consists of 11 houses and an oversized church. Various artists have settled here and exhibit their works in the open air.

Particularly suitable for children and not far from the Berghotel Jägerhof is the Ravensburger Spieleland, the glass-making village in Schmidsfelden, the Sky Walk near Scheidegg, the mini world in Wengen near Oberstaufen (large model railway system), a reptile zoo near Scheidegg, the artificial ice rink (Memmingen), mini-golf course (Neutrauchburg), as well as our game gate and the playground directly at the hotel.
